Diagnostic Imaging
We have a state of the art digital x-ray system capable of radiographing patients from mice to Great Danes. We also have a specialised dental x-ray machine for use in patients with dental disease. Our ultrasound scanner is one of the latest models, designed for detailed abdominal and cardiac investigations. An endoscope is also available for a range of internal examinations.
New digital technology has now replaced photographic film, thereby avoiding the need for films and developers; all we need now is a digital film reader and a computer. The images are displayed on the computer in seconds after taking the exposure instead of minutes, and can be edited and adjusted as needed to get a diagnostic image of excellent quality. This means a shorter anaesthetic time for your pet. Images are stored electronically and can be sent to specialists for a second opinion or to referral centres by email rather than post.
The system is cleaner, more efficient and of much better quality and therefore we can offer a better service without any increase in our prices. As the system does not require as much x-ray radiation for the exposure, the system is also safer for both the animals and operators . |
