Many
food retailers are now requiring that their suppliers of food products
conform to specific Farm Assurance Schemes.
These
schemes are becoming very complex, especially in the dairy sector,
to such an extent that our vets attend courses on farm assurance
to help us understand the requirements. We are in a position to
help farmers comply with all of the monitoring and achieve the standards
which are required. We can also assist with the completion of the
self assessment forms and of course write the Veterinary Herd Health
Plan for you. It will soon be a requirement that all dairy producers
and keepers of beef cattle, sheep and pigs have a written Veterinary
Herd Health Plan which will need to be reviewed regularly.
